Overview of Medical Cannabis in Oregon

Ballot Measure 67 for possession and use was passed as a ballot initiative in 1998, House Bill 3460 for authority to license and regulate businesses passed as a legislative bill in 2013, and House Bill 3400 for a single framework for both medical and recreational, as well as creating requirements for labeling packaging, and testing passed as a legislative bill in 2015. Patients are required to obtain a statement from their primary doctor. Home Cultivation is allowed.

Possession Limit

24 oz flower, 16 oz medical cannabinoid in solid form, 72 oz in liquid form, 16 oz of concentrate, 5 grams extract, 4 immature plants and 50 seeds. These can all be possessed by either the patient or their caregiver.

Hemp was then federally legalized in the 2018 Farm Bill, signed December 20, 2018.
